Agility training
About Agility
Dog agility combines handler control, athleticism, and confidence in a sport where a dog is guided through a course of obstacles (Aframe, Tunnels, Jumps, Weave Polls, See-Saw, etc.) within a time limit. In competition handlers may give an unlimited number of commands or signals to their dog, but may not touch the dog or equipment. Dogs are 'faulted' for actions such as taking down a jump bar, failing to put one or more feet on safety zone of contact equipment, and taking obstacles out of sequence. Time penalties are additionally added for dogs that go over the 'Standard Course Time' established by the judge. To learn more about agility, visit AKC's Agility Guide. |
